Climate Change

Climate change is one of the most serious long-term challenges facing the Australian tourism industry. Changes to the earth’s temperature threaten our world-class natural environments, such as the Great Barrier Reef, National Parks and wine-producing regions, while growing consumer awareness of the impacts of greenhouse gas emissions is increasingly influencing travel behaviour.

Tourism & Transport Forum (TTF) is playing a leading role in the industry response to climate change. We are a member of the Federal Government’s Tourism and Climate Change Taskforce, providing industry input into the Tourism and Climate Change Action Plan. We also convene our own Climate Change Roundtable, which brings together leaders from across the tourism, transport, aviation and investment sectors to guide industry action. TTF's inaugural National Tourism & Transport Climate Change Forum was held in August 2007.
