Education
The education sector is of critical importance to the work of TTF and its members as a partner in research, an educator of the current and future workforce and as a tourism sector in its own right.
In 2007-8 international education contributed $15.5 billion to the Australian economy, although there are significant emerging challenges. TTF has been involved in these issues for some time, having convened the first Education Tourism Export Forum in 2007 and led calls for a Brand Australia to bring together tourism and international education. In addition, our Chairman Bruce Baird is leading the review into the ESOS Act.
TTF is proud to represent a number of university and private college members and has partnered on a number of research and training initiatives. TTF was a partner in the Sustainable Tourism Cooperative Research Centre since inception and has applied for a number of ARC Linkage grants. We also regularly deliver guest lectures at member universities on policy development, advocacy and research issues.
