Our CEO

Margy Osmond is the Chief Executive Officer of the Tourism & Transport Forum Australia (TTF), assuming the role in October 2014. Margy has extensive experience in policy development and advocacy, politics, membership organisations, management, media and public relations.

Before joining TTF, Margy was the inaugural CEO of the Australian National Retailers’ Association (ANRA), now the Retail Council, which was established in 2006 as a lobby and research organisation to be the voice of the large national retailers in Australia. Prior to this, Margy was the CEO of the State and Sydney Chambers of Commerce in NSW for five years.

Margy has a wide range of Board experience having been Chair of the NSW TAFE Commission Board and Chair of the Australian Sports Foundation, Deputy Chair of Tourism NSW, and served on the boards of the Australian Sports Commission, Bell Shakespeare, the Retail Employees Superannuation Trust, NSW Major Events, the NSW Police Minister’s Advisory Board and NSW State Transit Authority. Margy also chaired the bid and official Organising Committee for the largest non-elite sporting event in the world, the International World Masters Games, held in Sydney in 2009.

Amanda Clark
Director Marketing & Operations

Amanda holds the position of Director Marketing & Operations at TTF. Amanda joined TTF’s marketing team in 2003 and since that time her comprehensive knowledge of the industry and membership base has seen her responsible for strategic marketing, sponsorship, membership and events. The portfolios of finance, operations, marketing and events are currently consolidated under her leadership.

Sam Moreton
Director Policy & Research

Sam holds the position of Director Policy & Research at TTF.  With responsibility for the government relations, policy, research and communications teams. Sam joins TTF with over 20 years’ private and public sector experience in Transport, Economic Reform and Industry. Sam has a solid understanding of the national transport and tourism sectors and the political and public policy framework in which they operate.

Having held Senior Policy and Chief of Staff roles in the transport, roads and freight portfolios, he has returned to Transport with significantly added senior experience in policy and advocacy campaigns.

Sam’s work with high profile political figures has given him an extraordinary network of contacts across the public and private sector.

After leaving politics, Sam worked for a time with leading bi-partisan public affairs firm Government Relations Australia and more recently as a public servant in the Australian Department of Industry Innovation and Science.

Louise Southall
Director of Research

Louise Southall holds the position of Director of Research at TTF. Louise has over 20 years of work experience in public policy, economics and research and has her own policy and research consultancy – The Right Research.

Prior to starting The Right Research in 2010, Louise spent a decade at the NSW Business Chamber and the State Chamber of Commerce (NSW). These organisations gave Louise exposure to a wide range of policy areas including economics, taxation, regional development, planning, water management, energy, small business, family-friendly practices, red tape and infrastructure. Before these policy-based roles, Louise was the Senior Economist at Nomura Australia, a leading Japanese investment bank.

Louise has a Masters of Economics from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Economics (hons) from the University of Newcastle.

Graeme Moses
Director Business Development & Membership

Graeme holds the position of Director Business Development & Membership. He joined TTF in 2016 and is responsible for the organisation’s relationships with its members and strategic partners.

A former journalist and media adviser to the NSW Opposition Leader and a Federal Parliamentary Secretary, Graeme has held senior executive positions covering marketing, member services, events, operations, communications and government relations at the NSW Chamber of Commerce, the Australian National Retailers Association and the Financial Services Council.

Jeremy Scott
Manager Media & Communications

Jeremy holds the position of Manager Media & Communications at TTF.  Jeremy has more than a decade’s experience having worked in regional, metropolitan and overseas media roles, and in government working as a press secretary to a Shadow Minister in the Federal Parliament and to Ministers in the NSW Government.

Prior to joining TTF, Jeremy worked as the Communications Manager for the Office of Local Government and served as a Commissioner on the NSW Boundaries Commission.

Ben Gommers
Corporate Affairs & Policy Manager

Ben holds the position of Policy Manager at TTF. Ben has a broad range of experience in smart mobility, roads and public transport infrastructure and brings a unique perspective to the portfolio having worked in senior policy and commercial roles across public and private sectors. Prior to joining TTF, Ben was a senior advisor at the NRMA and has previously advised Transport for NSW, the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, Roads & Maritime Services, Transport Certification Australia and Transdev. Ben has also worked with Government Ministers and State Members of Parliament. Ben holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business (Management) from Griffith University.

Tony Harrington
Policy Manager

Tony holds the position of Policy Manager at TTF. He is a corporate communications leader and has more than 20 years’ experience working for major entities in the aviation and tourism sectors in Australia and overseas. A principal speechwriter for Etihad also producing strategic messaging, submission, news release and lobbying content for Etihad and aviation partners.

Prior to Etihad, Tony was involved in key communications roles for entities including Qantas, Air New Zealand, Hawaiian Airlines, LAN Airlines, China Southern Airline, Marriott Hotel and Resorts, Hertz, Antarctica Sightseeing Flights and Positively Wellington Tourism (NZ), as well as communications support for one of Australian tourism’s pre-eminent figures, Mr Leslie Cassar AC and his businesses. Before entering corporate communications, Tony was a journalist with the Fairfax Group

Lucinda Millsom
Policy Manager, Tourism

Lucinda holds the position of Policy and Research Manager at TTF. Leveraging on nearly a decade’s experience as a public policy creator, implementer and strategist, she is responsible for government relations, policy, research and strategy functions across TTF’s tourism portfolio.

During the recent period of considerable economic growth in NSW, she was an adviser to NSW Premier Mike Baird on economic and social policy that included the tourism and transport industries. Prior to that Lucinda advised the NSW Finance Minister and the NSW Treasurer.

She holds a Bachelor of International Studies from the University of Sydney and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Katherine Anderson
Senior Manager Strategy & Partnerships

Katherine holds the position of Senior Manager, Strategy & Partnerships. Katherine joined TTF in February 2017 and is responsible for the sourcing, securing and management of the organisation’s relationships with its strategic partners. She also plays an instrumental role in the development and implementation of TTF’s corporate strategy in collaboration with other internal stakeholders, and has oversight of the highly effective events team.

With over fifteen years’ experience in marketing, brand, sponsorship, events and media / PR across a range of industries, Katherine brings diverse knowledge and experience to TTF.

Katherine prides herself on innovation, design thinking and inspiring others.  Her ability to multi-task and her ‘can-do’ attitude brings a strong delivery and outcomes based focus to the organisation. Katherine holds a Diploma in Travel and Tourism, a Masters in Commerce (Marketing) UNSW and is a member of ADMA.

 

Laura Jarimba
Events Coordinator

Laura holds the position of Events Coordinator at TTF, a recent graduate from the University of Technology Sydney having completed a Bachelor of Management in Events and Leisure.  Laura was previously part of The Fraser Park Football Club Board as the Events and Marketing Coordinator as well as working alongside the Event Producer for the Aria Music Awards. With a passion for the creative arts and the events industry she looks forward to continuing  her passion at TTF.

Liz Orfanos
Marketing & Events Manager

Liz holds the position of Marketing and Events Manager at TTF and has a work history in event management, conference organisation and sales.  She has a strong social and community involvement in committees and fundraising for the Cronulla and Sydney branches of Surf Life Saving and is a qualified florist.

Alison Beaumont
Executive Assistant to the CEO

Alison joined TTF with more than 6 years’ experience in the corporate and professional services sectors. Having completed diplomas and certification in leadership and management including risk management, strategy and business planning, she has worked closely with management teams through innovation, transition and growing business. Alison joined TTF from Coffey International Limited, and now provides executive support to CEO, Margy Osmond and the TTF Team.

Sophia Habib
Administration & Office Assistant

Sophia holds the position of Administration and Office Assistant at TTF and provides admin support to the Policy team, Events team and general office administration responsibilities. Sophia has previously worked with the AMA supporting the policy advisors.

David Tooman
Finance Manager

David holds the position of Finance Manager at TTF. He is CA qualified originally from NZ and has strong commercial management experience.

Prior to joining TTF David was Finance Manager with The Outsourced Group which was a company that offered professional development for corporates. David reported directly to the CEO/MD of the business. He was responsible for the full finance function from payroll, tax calculations, reporting and HR.
