Tourism & transport sectors welcome Premier Berejiklian

The Tourism & Transport Forum Australia (TTF) congratulates Gladys Berejiklian on becoming the 45th Premier of NSW and is excited to work with her Government to continue the smart investment in the State’s transport infrastructure and the visitor economy.

“As Treasurer and Transport Minister, Ms Berejiklian has been a strong supporter of growing the NSW visitor economy, and we are keen to ensure that her premiership keeps the State on the right path continuing to invest in the transport and visitor infrastructure,” said Margy Osmond, TTF CEO.

“Premier Berejiklian understands that a strong public transport system underpins the success of a modern global city and that investing in destination marketing, major events, sporting and cultural institutions delivers dividends to both the NSW and Australian economies.

“TTF has been a vocal advocate of the need to expand public transport infrastructure and we’ve applauded the Government’s investment in a world-class metro rail system and the roll out of light rail in the Sydney CBD, Western Sydney and Newcastle. We have no doubt that the new Premier will see all these projects delivered to the benefit of commuters and visitors.

“The tourism and transport industries look forward to continuing our strong working partnership with the Premier and her Government to ensure that Australia and NSW’s visitor economy can reach its full potential as a jobs and economic wealth juggernaut.”
