2017 Australian Transport Summit: Are we ready? The future of mobility in Australia

The Tourism & Transport Forum’s annual Australian Transport Summit, to be held in Sydney on Friday 18 August, will showcase some of the biggest names in the Australian transport sector.

The 2017 Summit, to be held in partnership with the International Association of Public Transport Australia New Zealand (UITPANZ), provides a unique platform for transport professionals from across Australia to engage political leaders, industry executives and key decision makers from across the transport industry.

The Summit, themed Are we ready? The future of mobility in Australia, will focus on current and emerging issues facing the Australian transport sector, with leading Australian and international transport experts discussing a range of topics, including:

• A vision for the future: Building cities that work
• Infrastructure delivery: Mobilising to deliver tomorrow’s transport networks; and
• Digital disruption: Embracing technology and new service delivery models to meet customer needs.

“Opening with the Federal Minister for Minister for Urban Infrastructure, the Hon Paul Fletcher MP, the Summit will feature a stellar line-up of some of the most innovative and informed names in the Australian and global transport sectors,” TTF Chief Executive, Margy Osmond, said.

“Included in the list of international speakers is Singapore Land Transport Authority Deputy CEO, Jeremy Yap, who will discuss what Australia can learn from Singapore’s world leading public transport system.

“In an absolutely not-to-be-missed event, the Summit will also feature former NSW Premier Nick Greiner and Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation, Chair and former Queensland Premier Peter Beattie, who will provide a unique insight into how major infrastructure projects can be delivered in a partisan political environment.

“The Australian Transport Summit has earned a reputation for attracting the best and brightest transport minds, and this year will be no exception.”
