Adelaide Airport embraces the ride-share revolution

Adelaide Airport has joined the ranks of terminals across the world embracing ride-share technology with the official arrival of uberX today, which will give local residents and travellers to the city much greater choice and convenience when heading to and from the airport, the Tourism & Transport Forum said today.

TTF Chief Executive Margy Osmond said that travellers to world-class tourist destinations such as Adelaide are increasingly looking to utilise ride-share technology as one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to travel to and from an airport.

“Adelaide Airport must be congratulated on taking advantage of the ride-share revolution by opening the door for uberX to allow its drivers to pick-up passengers just two minutes from the terminal exit,” Ms Osmond said.

“Every day, more and more people right across Australia are utilising ride-share options as their preferred mode of transport, whether it be to travel to work, to head out for a night on the town, or to get home from the airport.

“With more than eight million domestic and international passengers passing through Adelaide airport ever year, and growing, the more options that are available to people to travel between the airport and the city the greater their overall experience of visiting Adelaide will be.”
