BE A GOOD EGG THIS YEAR – STAY HOME AND STAY SAFE

Australians must heed the calls of the nation’s leaders and resist any urge to travel or to defy social distancing measures implemented by the Federal Government to combat the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the tourism industry’s peak body said today.

Tourism and Transport Forum (TTF) CEO Margy Osmond said that while Australia had made good progress in ‘flattening the curve’ through a range of measures designed to halt the spread of COVID-19, we could not afford to become complacent over what is traditionally a holiday weekend.

“I know many Australians generally take advantage of the four-day weekend to spend time away on a mini break often with family and friends, but this year I urge you all to stay safe and stay home.

“What better reason can you have to stay at home and eat chocolate while at the same time helping to protect your health and that of your fellow Australians.

“Apart from board games, cards and a good healthy dose of TV streaming services as you enjoy that favourite series or movie, you could also start researching a future holiday, once the pandemic is under control,” Ms Osmond said.
