SUMMER OF FUN: NSW THREE STAGE REOPENING PROVIDES CERTAINTY FOR TOURISM INDUSTRY

The NSW Government’s newly announced three stage reopening plan provides much needed certainty for the immediate future of the tourism, transport and aviation industry, the Tourism & Transport Forum (TTF) said today.

“As more of us are fully vaccinated, our businesses and event organisations across the state can now start planning to reopen for a summer of fun in NSW in line with these vaccination-tied timelines,” TTF CEO Margy Osmond said.

“People living in both regional and metropolitan NSW will also be able to start planning Christmas celebrations and get-togethers with friends and family as well as long needed summer holidays and weekends away.

“With Victoria on a similar trajectory and with a similar ambition, this sensible NSW three-stage plan to safely reopen while also living with COVID-19 will hopefully encourage other states to also reopen along similar timeframes.

“Australia is one country and our tourism industry requires a national and international network to get back up and running as we put state-wide lockdowns behind us and look ahead to a brighter 2022 and beyond.

“TTF also encourages state governments to continue working closely with the Federal Government to progress and finalise a reopening of the international border by early December to provide further clarity for people and business.

“I congratulate the NSW Government on this announcement today and for engaging closely with TTF and our members as we plan and progress this reopening of the State.
