Tourism & Transport Forum has today welcomed the announcement by drone delivery business Wing that they are launching commercial drone delivery service in South East Queensland, in the Logan suburbs of Crestmead and Marsden.

Speaking about today’s announcement TTF Chief Executive Margy Osmond said, “What’s not to love about Wing’s service.”

“There are positives for both the retailer and the consumers in this announcement, including great opportunities for small businesses to expand their market reach and increase sales.

“In terms of the environment this is great news, as the program grows, we should also see less cars on the road.

“The Queensland Government also needs to be congratulated on being at the forefront of drone technology and embracing the opportunity to work with Wing,” Ms Osmond said.

In a recent survey conducted by Tourism & Transport Forum, Aussies were asked if they could see a future where people and goods are transported by flying drones, with 66% of people nationally saying yes.

64% of Queenslanders also agreed that the style of delivery service would be in operation sooner rather than later.

“These research statistics tell us that people are ready, waiting and embracing future technology and new ways to not only receive deliveries but also how we conduct our day to day lives.

“On the consumer side for so many young families or people that are housebound, life can be made just a little bit easier with deliveries by Wing.

Even if you forget to pick up the milk the night before, Wing will be able to come to the rescue in a matter of minutes.
